Spot light on Cathy Carson.
Born in Yorkshire in 19— the youngest of 4 all brothers and sister where musical so it was all too easy to see Cathy would follow suit. Cathy started with dance classes but was always singing to the music and at 5yrs old would sing the songs instead of dancing. Joined the school drama group and when her family moved to Skegness when Cathy was 9 she found an amateur operatic society and went from strength to strength taking many lead rolls from the age of 11. Cathy knew that singing would be her life. Her Father became her manager and Cathy started touring all around Lincolnshire with many summer season bookings along the coast. At 14 years old a tour of America came on the books, this was a real eye opener and Cathy grew up very quickly. A contract was offered with C B S in Philli. but Cathy turned it down after all she was only 14. Cathy often wonders what might have been?.

Back in England the Gigs came in from all over and Cathy joined a few young talented musicions and a few bands were formed the last being in the 70s, Called ‘The Three New Pennies “and a L. P. was made called Newly Minted, sales rocketed but did not quite make the album charts. The popularity of the band grew and grew Cathy married the Drummer John and continued for many more years. When the organist Sheila got married the band disbanded, Cathy continued in a small way by her self singing. In the 90s John and Cathy divorced and Cathy stopped singing and went to work in Bedfordshire where she met her current husband Keith.

Unfortunately in 2001 Cathy had throat problems and completely lost her voice, wonderful for Keith not so for Cathy, no talking or singing, the voice was restored after treatment and in 2003 they decided to come and live in Spain and the rest is history. Cathy just loves to sing weather it be to backing tracks, singing Jazz with live musicians or choral works, all kinds of charity gigs be it to 2 or 200 people the show always goes on.
